Sculpture

Kari Furre

Open Studios venue 2

I worked as a Theatre Designer and then a commercial sculptor for museum exhibitions. In 2002 I qualified as a swimming teacher and have been studying movement and water ever since, both elusive subjects for sculpture! I try to show how water and movement feels to the inner eye, and to invite you into the world of underwater. All the work is in natural materials. I am re-inventing old recipes for papier mache and techniques of leather casting. and believe that these materials will survive for a very long time.
